How Rayista handles your data.

1. Scope and who we are

This policy covers Rayista for iPhone, rayista.com, App Store distribution, and support. Rayista is developed and published by Viacheslav Shkliarov, referred to here as "we", "us", or "our".

Rayista has no account, advertising, or third-party analytics SDK. We do not receive your camera feed, microphone recordings, or photo library through the app. Processing takes place on your iPhone. Apple services and services you choose for sharing can transfer data as described below.

2. Camera and microphone

Camera access lets Rayista show the viewfinder, preview looks, and capture photos and videos. Microphone access lets it record sound with video. If microphone access is denied or restricted, video can be recorded without sound.

Rayista processes camera frames and recorded audio on your device. It does not send them to us. You can change these permissions in iPhone Settings.

3. Photos and Studio

Rayista requests read and write access to Photos to display, save, adjust, and delete photos and videos. Limited access lets it use the items you permit and captures it adds. With full access, Rayista can organize captures and adjusted items in a Rayista album.

Studio reads the photo or video you choose, its available metadata, and any saved adjustment data. It processes looks, curves, layers, masks, and imported LUTs on your device. Photos may download an original from iCloud when you open an item that is not stored locally.

For supported Photos items, Rayista saves adjustments to the same asset using Photos editing tools, which retain the original. Some imported files are saved as new assets. A file that arrives with effects already applied may not contain an unfiltered original.

Rayista's capture library uses Photos. Deleting a capture in Rayista requests deletion of that asset from Photos, subject to the system confirmation. It does not delete a separate Rayista-only copy. iCloud Photos can sync changes and deletions to your other devices.

4. Local data and backups

Rayista stores settings, favorites, look order, custom looks, imported looks, and an optional author name on your device. It also uses temporary files and previews while capturing, adjusting, importing, and sharing media.

Photos manages saved captures and adjustment data. Device backups and iCloud Photos follow your Apple settings. Rayista does not give us access to those copies.

5. Looks, imports, and sharing

The bundled look collection ships with the app. Rayista does not fetch that catalog from our servers or report which looks you use. You can also create looks, import Rayista look files, and import .cube LUT files.

A shared .rayista file contains its name, creation date, adjustment settings, embedded LUT data where used, an optional author name, and a preview when available. If you choose a photo for the preview, that image is included in the shared file. Review the preview and author name before sharing.

Files go through the destination you select, such as AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or Files. Its privacy rules apply. Recipients can keep, edit, and pass on shared files. Rayista does not host a public look gallery or send these files to us.

6. Optional iCloud Looks sync

iCloud Looks is off by default. When you enable it, Rayista stores your saved looks in your iCloud Drive and syncs changes across devices using the same iCloud account. This includes look names, optional author names, adjustment settings, embedded LUT data, identifiers, and creation and modification dates. This feature does not sync your photo or video library.

Deleting a look while sync is enabled also syncs that deletion. Rayista keeps a deletion record so an older copy does not restore the look. Turning sync off stops further syncing; it does not erase existing iCloud files. You can manage those files through Files and your iCloud settings.

Apple processes iCloud data under its Privacy Policy. We do not operate a server for look sync or have access to your iCloud Drive.

7. App Store and subscriptions

Apple handles app downloads, updates, and Rayista Pro subscriptions. StoreKit provides transaction and entitlement information that Rayista uses on your device to check Pro access. We do not operate a purchase server or receive your payment-card details.

Apple processes account, payment, transaction, and related information under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple may provide us with App Store sales and usage reports or diagnostics, subject to its reporting rules and your settings. See Apple's App Analytics privacy information.

8. Website

Cloudflare hosts and protects rayista.com. It can process network and security information, including your IP address, requested page, browser details, request time, and security signals. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

The website does not include advertising or analytics trackers, set analytics cookies, or create visitor profiles. Following an App Store or other external link takes you to a service with its own privacy policy.

9. Support and information you send us

If you email [email protected], we receive your address, message, and any attachments. We use them to respond, investigate the problem, and maintain the relevant support history.

Send only what is needed. Photos, videos, and look previews can contain personal information. Media files can also contain location and other metadata. Review files before attaching them.

We do not sell personal information. We may share support or website information with providers that help deliver the site or email, professional advisers, or authorities where needed to provide support, protect our services, or meet legal obligations.

10. Legal bases and international processing

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, we use support information to respond to your request and provide the service you asked for. We rely on legitimate interests to operate and protect the website and investigate reported problems, legal obligations where records are required, and consent where we ask for it.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Where required, international transfers must use applicable legal safeguards. You can contact us for information about providers and safeguards relevant to information we hold about you.

11. Retention and deletion

You manage saved photos and videos in Photos or Rayista. Deleting the app does not delete assets already saved in Photos. Photos controls its Recently Deleted folder and iCloud Photos retention.

Deleting the app removes its local settings and saved looks. It does not automatically erase device backups, previously synced iCloud files, exported files, or copies held by other people. Manage those copies in the relevant Apple service or sharing destination.

We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain relevant support history, handle disputes, or meet legal obligations. Apple controls its transaction records. Website infrastructure records follow the hosting provider's retention practices.

12. Security

Rayista uses iOS app storage and permissions to protect local data. Apple handles Photos, iCloud, and App Store services. No system guarantees against every loss or unauthorized access. Protect your device and Apple Account, and keep backups of files you need.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on it and complain to a data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Contact us using the address below. We cannot retrieve or delete files in your Photos library or iCloud account. Manage those through Apple, or contact Apple about information it controls.

14. Children

Rayista does not require an account and does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app. If a child sends personal information to support, a parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion.

15. Changes

We may update this policy as Rayista or its services change. We will show the current version and effective date here and provide further notice where required.
